Independent researcher and writer with more than fourteen years of writing experience, having contributed to various art and culture publications across Pakistan, India, UAE and Brazil.  In the UAE, I have written for The State, Canvas, Tribe, Khaleej Times and Art Dubai Blog. In Pakistan, I’ve contributed to many platforms over the years, but more notably ArtNow Pakistan, Herald Magazine, The Friday Times and Libas International. I served as an arts correspondent for The Rio Times in 2011, covering art and culture stories around Rio de Janeiro. In addition to this, I have contributed essays to several exhibition catalogues and art publications across UAE, Pakistan and India. My interests include research, art history, publishing, alternative histories, global modernities, and South Asian discourse.

Ongoing: Contributing Editor (Art) at the South Asian literary journal Papercuts, published online and in print bi-annually; Project Manager on a monograph on Iranian artist Abbas Akhavan (SKIRA / Works on Paper, 2017). Previously: Director of Communications at The Third Line in Dubai. Recipient of the inaugural Lahore Biennale Foundation Research Fellowship, granted in conjunction with Asia Art Archive (Hong Kong) – developing a digital archive of Zubeida Agha (1922–1997).

    Lahore Biennale Foundation (LBF) Inaugural Research Fellowship, in conjunction with Asia Art Archive (AAA), Hong Kong
    Developing a digital archive on Zubeida Agha (1922–1997), a pioneering modernist artist whose roles as gallerist and patron are largely unexamined. The project aims to access and digitize selected material including rarely circulated writings, ephemera, correspondence, and photographs that will enable future research on Agha’s legacy.
